This is where I play football/soccer.

I was suspended for this game, following a game saving sending off from the week before. I say game saving, and I mean it. The chap was about to score, I came screaming off my line, took him out*, outside the box. I was, quite rightly, promptly dismissed. They missed the free kick and we drew. We drew 1-1. We were top of the league by one point after that game.

The second photo is from yesterday- we played Sydney Uni and did them 3-1. I’m in the light blue catching the ball.

We play at the Reg Bartley Oval in Rushcutters Bay, Sydney. It’s better than playing at Clapham Common in London. Sometimes the ball goes into the sea. It’s beautiful.

Welcome to winter.

Stuff smells sometimes.
Tonight I am going boxing. It will be my third time ever. First time with my new boxing partner Kav. The gloves are probably going to smell. Afterwards I am playing football where I know for a fact that my goalkeeper gloves smell. They smell so bad my team mates won’t shake hands with me after a match.

Scribbles into a model of an app…

I’ve presented a few scribbles of phone app ideas to client before and even done a really basic paper prototype, and they have always gone down pretty well, and then nothing has come of it, or a developer from another agency has taken it on and been briefed.

This could shake things up, help sell the idea in more and give the client something tangible to image the end product. It is called POP- Prototyping on Paper. With the idea being, sketch out your wireframes, like you would normally, snap them with your phone, and then simulate the browsing experience.

This is one I did in literally 10 minutes at work yesterday. It’s a Matt Furlong app, which I promise to never make, but it gives a guide for how easy it is, even for a lame-ass like myself.

Skeuomorphism- it’s sick.

So I presented to the agency today, on Skeuomorphism. I’ve been following a series on it from Fast Company over the last few months and became really interested in it. I am working on the Windows 8 launch at the moment and this thinking is really relevant following the total redesign of the windows interface and UI.

I still think I am sitting on the fence about whether I am pro or anti skeuomorphs. There is a balance that is required, and hopefully that balance is right in Windows 8, and I have a feeling it will be.

Also- I hate sticking pictures of Steve Jobs in presentations, it’s so obvious, but I guess he was a big fan of it- so I stuck him in. I hate myself.

hashtag winning…

I’ve been pretty rubbish at updating and blogging recently. A solo image of a packet of Brannigans Roast Beef and Mustard flavoured crisps is all I have posted. I mean, they are great, and I believe worthy of a post, but I need to step it back up.

Anyway, I blogged about being nominated for the BandT 30under30 a while back, and I was one of the thirty folks named, as Australia’s future leaders

Im in the front, stood to the side.

So, all in all I am stoked. Now I will blog more. Definitely.
